PARTNERS

– Driving Sustainable Waste Management in Africa

We are pleased to share that this year’s IFAT Munich was another strong success for the FIMA Africa and FIMA Industries team. As the world’s leading trade fair for environmental technologies, IFAT once again brought together global leaders, innovators, and decision-makers to shape the future of waste management. For us, it was a week defined by collaboration, meaningful discussions, and the start of exciting new partnerships.

Partnership with Komptech GmbH

One of the highlights of IFAT 2024 was the signing of a cooperation agreement between Komptech GmbH and FIMA Industries. This marks an important step in our mission to bring proven, high-performance recycling technologies to Africa, where solutions must be both innovative and practical.

“Our partnership with Komptech allows us to deliver solutions that are fit for purpose in Sub-Saharan Africa. It’s not just about providing technology, but about making sure it is tailored to local conditions so it can create lasting impact.” – Markus Maierhofer, CEO FIMA Industries

This cooperation opens the door to greater access to advanced machinery, reliable processes, and long-term expertise — strengthening the foundations for sustainable waste management across the region.

In addition to Komptech, we are proud to work alongside our valued partners FAUN Group, SULO France, and Tana Oy. Together, we are able to offer an integrated portfolio of solutions that cover every step of the waste management cycle, from logistics to recycling.

We also worked closely with the UNIDO-led delegation from West, East, and Northern Africa. These exchanges are vital in aligning technology, policy, and finance to help governments and institutions develop modern waste systems that can keep pace with growing demand.

We were especially proud to see the Jospong Group of Companies showcase their current and upcoming projects in Ghana and across Sub-Saharan Africa. Their vision and determination to advance waste management in the region are inspiring, and we are honored to support their journey.

“Supporting strong African partners like Jospong is central to our mission. By combining technology with the right financial solutions, we can help build structures that are sustainable in the long term.” – Markus Maierhofer, CEO FIMA Industries

A key moment during the week was the panel discussion on “From Waste to Secondary Raw Materials with Adaptable Solutions,” where Samuel Ntumy, General Manager of Kumasi Compost & Recycling Plant Limited (KCARP), shared valuable insights. His perspective highlighted how adaptable solutions can transform waste into valuable secondary resources — a message that strongly resonates with our mission.

With the launch of our new export arm, FIMA Industries, we are ready to make access to technology and financing even more seamless for clients across Sub-Saharan Africa. The cooperation agreement with Komptech is just one example of the opportunities that lie ahead, and we look forward to building on this momentum.
